🌱 Welcome to Leechpool Caterpillar Nursery & After-School Club

Starting nursery is a big milestone for both children and their families, and we want every child to feel happy, safe, confident and excited to come through our doors.

Our friendly team takes the time to get to know every child and family, helping each child settle at their own pace. We believe that when children feel secure and valued, they are ready to learn, explore, make friends and have fun!

💛 Settling Into Nursery

We offer three intakes each year, subject to availability, in September, January and April.

Before your child officially starts with us, we offer two special settling sessions, giving your child the opportunity to become familiar with our nursery, their new surroundings and our staff.

Our two settling sessions

🌟 Session One – Come & Explore Together
You and your child will spend an hour with us, giving you the chance to meet the team, explore the nursery and begin to feel at home. During this session, we will also complete a baseline assessment through gentle, age-appropriate activities and observations.

🌟 Session Two – Your Child’s First Adventure
Your child will have the opportunity to stay with us independently while you take a little time away. They can explore, play and get to know their new friends and teachers before you return to collect them.

These sessions help us build a strong relationship with your child from the very beginning and allow us to make their transition into nursery as smooth and positive as possible.

3:15pm – 6:15pm

Our flexible sessions mean that families can choose the pattern of care that works best for them, subject to availability and funding eligibility.

💷 Our Fees

We aim to keep our childcare flexible and accessible for families. Where government funding does not cover your chosen sessions, our private fees are:

🎓 Government Funded Hours

We accept government-funded childcare hours, including:

• 15 and 30 hours funding for eligible 2-year-olds
• 15 and 30 hours funding for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds
• Funding from 9 months old, where applicable

Eligible funded hours can be used towards our morning, afternoon and full-day nursery sessions. If you have funded hours remaining, these may also be used towards our extended nursery sessions, subject to the terms of your funding and availability.

Our team will be happy to talk you through how funded hours can work alongside our sessions and help you make the most of your child’s entitlement.
