Impact of the PE and Sport Premium

The funding has enabled Leechpool Primary School to broaden and strengthen its PE, sport and physical activity provision.

Investment in staff professional development has supported the development of staff knowledge, confidence and skills in delivering PE and physical activity.

Funding for extra-curricular opportunities and external competitions has enabled pupils to access sporting opportunities beyond their core PE lessons and provided opportunities to represent the school and participate in competitive sport.

Investment in PE equipment and resources has increased the range and quality of resources available to support lessons, physical activity and wider sporting opportunities across the school.

The use of external coaching expertise has complemented the school's existing provision and provided additional sporting opportunities for pupils.

Funding has also been targeted to improve opportunities and participation for:

  • pupils with SEND
  • pupils with long-term medical conditions
  • girls
  • disadvantaged pupils

This has supported the school's aim of making PE, sport and physical activity accessible to pupils regardless of background, need or ability. Sports Premium 2026
